Free travel scheme for 16-18s*

Northumberland College has launched a travel scheme that means all 16-18 year olds who study at the college, living in Northumberland or Tyne and Wear and living more than 3 miles from their chosen place of study, will be entitled to free travel by public transport from September 2014.

Northumberland College is also providing an extended bus service between Berwick and its main sites at Ashington and Kirkley Hall to better cater for students in north Northumberland. Furthermore, dedicated bus services have also been added from Cramlington to Ashington and from Cramlington and Blyth to Kirkley Hall. This will help to provide a comprehensive bus service to the students of Northumberland College.

All eligible students may apply for free travel passes for their journey to and from college by contacting the college InfoZone team on 01670 841 200 or by emailing advice.centre@northland.ac.uk. Or click here to download an application form.

For those aged over 18, the college also provides bursaries for travel and other financial support, so anyone seeking course advice or information should call 01670 841 200.
