Northumberland College Welcomes New Principal
The Chair of the College Governing
Body, Jacqui Henderson CBE, said: "I and all of the Governors are
looking forward to working with Ian. Northumberland College and the
Board are confident that, as a very experienced Principal, Ian
will help to ensure that the College continues to evolve to
meet the changing needs of students, business partners and the
community.
"Ian brings a wealth of
experience to the College having spent nearly 25 years as a
Principal in many different colleges across the country and, for
example, whilst Principal at Blackburn College, achieved the second
only Ofsted Outstanding Award in every category in the country and
was the first large college to do so.
Over the past four years
ago, Ian has enjoyed working with several colleges and with many
hundreds of new colleagues in the role of Interim
Principal.
Jacqui added: "This is a
challenging time for all colleges and Northumberland is very
fortunate to have such an experienced Principal to lead the
College."
Ian Clinton, commented: "I
am honoured to be appointed as Principal, at such an exciting
time for the College, as we seek to expand our range of
opportunities for students and our local business and farming
communities."
Northumberland College has
invested over £14m in new facilities at its campuses in recent
years, including a brand-new £2.5m STEM Centre for science,
engineering and digital creative media.
